this weekend was my thirtieth birthday weekend-more on that later- and so my girl liz was in town visiting the great state of arkansas from her home in brooklyn, ny. if you are new around these parts, liz is my partner in anyday (and crime). also, if you are new around these parts, welcome!
after i made the woodrings, liz said she wanted one for her birthday. when i started making the bird board she thought maybe she wanted that instead. so i decided i would make something in the middle.
i started on this a few weeks ago.
this is where we left it.
before everyone made it in town on friday, liz and i headed down to the craft room so she could give me some input and i could finish it, so she could take it home. i didn’t take a ton of pics and i will have her post some when it gets a home.
i cut four birds into the round. it was incredibly hard to carve into the wood round. when i went to carve out the center of one it didn’t go all the way to the wood, from all the layers of paint. and i liked it. so we went with it. ooooooh pretty.
like i said, i didn’t get all the photos i want of it, so liz…hook it up! for now, this one will have to do!
AHOY FRIEND!
I want to read this but it hurts my eyes!
yikes! fixed!
