while i was in brooklyn over the summer, trying to figure out my life, an old co-worker who, thanks to social media, has become a friend sent me an email.

she told me about the 3six5 project and told me she thought i should try and participate. and so i did…

hello,
i am terra, a 28 year old who recently quit her marketing job and is packing up her bags to move from kansas city to rural arkansas. why you ask?
because i opened a prana catalouge and saw a mary oliver quote. it asked me “what do plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” and i decided that it was finally time to leave the city i love and have always called home.
it was finally time to give up content and stable for happy and growing.
if only it were that easy. 
we found a house, placed an offer, went through several rounds of counter offers, got a contract on the house, i quit my job, sold my car and then the appraisals wouldn’t hold up.
i have spent the past two months floating from staying with family in arkansas and southern missouri and now find myself staying in brooklyn with a friend for two weeks.
my life is in a sate of flux that i am learning to find my bliss in.
it sounds so cheesy, but that is where i am at in life.

i have kept a blog for a few years at terralikestobitch.blogspot.com and recently (today to be exact) i began my new blog, youawesomehick.com.

i think my style of writing lends it’s self wonderfully to your project and i would love to chance to be a part of it.

due to my lack of a job i am available anytime.i wont be working until at least september, but even then i do not see my life being busy enough that i could not make time for this opportunity.

and they wanted me to contribute! it was so exciting and a much, much needed boost in my life. little did i know that things were just on the cusp of going right. one week later b and i got engaged. and a little over a month after that we closed on our house and made arkansas our home. and today i write to you from my new job.

tomorrow is my date. november 30, 2011. i have thought for a long time about where i would be on this day, what would i be doing, what would be going on in the worldand what would i write about.

and thanks again nikki, this brought me so much joy that you thought of me, so much joy that they wanted me and will bring me so much joy to see my work on someone else’s blog. so thank you for thinking of me.
