fancy!

internet connection, what?? yeah, just don’t call me when you see me online. b and i went to sprint yesterday to get a hotspot, since we can’t get DSL at our house and satellite is both expensive and sucky. i had called sprint previously to see what our options were, and from what i understood we could get unlimited for $59.99/ month. when we went in the store that wasn’t the case. the only way for us to get unlimited was to use my evo (my phone) as a hotspot. if we had an actual hotspot we couldn’t get unlimited. so, i have to be home, or my phone at least, has to be home for b to get online. kinda sucky, but better than nothing.

we also signed up for dish or something like it. b and i have only had cable for a short amount of time in our history. and we cancelled it so we would read more or something like that. and it worked. now that we live in the middle of nowhere it would be nice to be able to watch tv. sometimes the local stations won’t even come in right for us. i am a little scared, as i have a wicked hgtv addiction and there is some new channel that is all about crime cases. sorry laundry, sorry house, i will try my hardest.

the other thing is that come this fall i will (i freaking hope i don’t eat these words) be employed again. not going to lie, i don’t miss work. i don’t miss being stressed out.  with that being said, i am thankful that i have had the time that i have had and will now stop being a big cry baby. the big question is what the heck am i going do? do i want to go back into corporate america? and if so, at what level? walmart corporate offices are the big deal employer down here. i also really liked the print shop that did my invites. back into agency life? intouch seemed like a dream, for the time i was there, but i also know that they are far from the agency norm.

how the hell do you get a job without a connection? i have never gotten a job from blindly submitting a resume, i have always had a connection. so, i am a little scared and overall pretty interested to see how that all turns out.

in the mean time i need to clean this beast of a house! this weekend is the motherload of friends and i cannot wait! tomorrow nick, christina, morgan, kelly, brad, jill and brandon are heading this way! instead of our usual float trip we are changing it up a bit. what once were ridiculously drunken nights camping at the NRO and near death, hot ass days on the niangua with hundreds of other drunk a-holes will now be ridiculously drunk nights sitting on our deck, in the insect super highway, using actual toilets (well, the girls will anyway, there is something about peeing off a 3 story deck that really does something for the men folk), still sleeping on air mattresses, but with air conditioning. instead of canoes, we will have boats and docks. the chances of us spilling a cooler and having to save the beer have seriously decreased. and if someone flips the boat this year, we are really screwed. i think we can count on the boys to keep things up to snuff in the ridiculous category. and i am sure someone will turn up with a wicked sunburn.

i can’t wait!

  1. I need you to meet some Wal-Mart connections, if that is what you maybe want to do! 🙂 I can’t promise anything, because WM is so hard to work into but I think it would help your chance!
