so, i almost posted a link to a wedding blog on my facebook, but decided against it. my man friends don’t want to see that crap. hell, most of my lady friends don’t want to see that crap either.
BUT some of you LOVE it.
so i will keep it here. you have to make a conscious decision to come here, so no whining about it!
we are getting some decisions made around here and so i can stop looking for venues and can finally start looking at STUFF!! a friend shared the bridal snob blog with me today and ohmylawdy. please send your job/children/pets my apologies as you will probably ignore them for the next hour.
here are a few i really liked. don’t look down on me when i steal these people’s ideas.
morgan pointed something like this out to me in brooklyn, but it wasn’t meant for a wedding.
this wedding makes me want to hand sew napkins. like 150 of them.

so here is some info…
9.10.11…yeah yeah that is cute, but not the reason we chose the date. my dear friend morgan owns cornerstone photography- kansas city, so being in the wedding business herself, people book her life up from spring until winter. she was there when we got engaged and the thought of a wedding without her just wasn’t as much fun. when we got back from nyc she told me that the only date she had free was september 11. i found this humorous. is that wrong of me? anyway, it turns out she had the WHOLE weekend free and that 9.11 is a sunday, so while slightly intoxicated on my birthday i decided that was the date. apparently b was informed when he arrived and BAM! wedding date set. and no, she isn’t shooting our wedding. i can’t have her all worky and stuff when we are supposed to be having fun! so there you go. that is how we picked our date. thank god someone made that decision for us. the farmers almanac is calling for clear sky, and the average temperature for that date is 81-64. of course, i checked all this AFTER we set the date.
the day after we got engaged my aunt called to congratulate me and offer her home for the wedding. it was so kind of her. and she was so genuinely excited for us. we are outdoor wedding kind of people. so we kept this in mind and looked at our options. state parks look down on drunks and, well, i don’t want to be arrested on my wedding night. we looked into a few other places in arkansas and southern missouri, but nothing seemed to fall into place right. on tuesday i talked to my cousin torre and she offered to do some research for me to see what kind of cost we would really be looking at. in less than an hour she found a DJ, got rental and tent quotes, group hotel rates, catering, etc. finally with the numbers in front of us we were able to make a final decision. i called my aunt to tell her last night and she was thrilled. that was her exact word. thrilled. i love it! she was so thankful that we wanted to have it there, when we should be (and are) the thankful ones.
with the date picked and the location secured my coast-to-coast friends have been looking for tickets. i am so glad they will be there. i can’t wait to see all the people i love in one place (except gretch…i will miss you lover!)
and so the wedding planning games have begun on the highest of notes. with friends and family and lots of love.
cheesy enough? just wait! (insert evil laugh and fake vomiting noises)
check out this sweet card from my girl liz and adam.
so perfect coming from these two. we loved it!
i hope you are well!
