one month down. NEEEEXT!

hey friends! it is the last day of january, so i figured i should let you know how my january goals went and get feburary on the books.

here are the january goals:

  • only eat out once a week
  • track daily on Weight Watchers
  • take all dry cleaning in
  • take all alteration/repairs in
  • exercise 45 min per day

year long goals:

  • blog once a week outside of anyday
  • stay positive in any and every way possible

only eat out once a week- i did pretty well with this. while there were a few times that it was more than once a week, i feel like i still kept it under control. the main thing is that i only ate out twice for lunch during work. once i got pesto veggie soup from panera with an apple and the other time i got steamed veggie dumplings and egg drop soup from PF Changs. there was one situation that we were away from home for a few days and so we ate out more than once. also, when we had company in town we were planning on eating out for dinner that night, but didn’t plan right and ended up needing to eat lunch out too. overall, i am feeling pretty good about this and am thinking about carrying it over to the next month.

track daily on weight watchers- the same weekend that we had friends in town is the same weekend i didn’t track. not surprisingly, that is also the only week that i didn’t see a loss. i also didn’t see a gain. so i feel all right about that. i will continue to keep tracking daily, as i feel it is imperative to my weight loss journey.

take all dry cleaning in- done. first time in my adult life. yeah, i turn 30 this year.

take all alterations/repairs in- i took all the clothes in. i have one pair of boots that need to go to the cobbler that didn’t make it. the zipper is broke and probably has been for almost two years. i should also confess that i took the clothes in today, BUT I DID IT, so it is still a W for me. well, a 90% W.

exercise 45 min per day- i did not exercise 45 min per day.i should say the goal is to do 45 min of activity during the course of a day.  i did not do this either. but i exercise. quite a bit more than i had in months. i can say without a doubt that i have done some type of activity at least 25 days this month. i recently started working out hard again. so where 45 min of walking accomplished a goal, 30 minutes of bodyweight resistance training works too. i plan to carry an exercise goal with me into next month.

blog once a week- done. i hope you are liking {get crafty}. i had hoped by now to be giving you another day worth of stuff, but it just hasn’t worked out. if you have something you want to put out to the universe, let me know. i am happy to share my soapbox.

stay positive in any and every way possible– i work on this each and every day and feel like i am a better person for it.

so there. overall, i don’t think i did that bad!

that brings us to feburary. i thought about a month away from grain or dairy, but we are going to utah to go skiing this month and i am not ready to test myself on vacation. instead i will do the things that i should be doing, the things that i should be embarassed to admit to the universe. don’t judge. here we go:

  • brush my teeth twice a day- i’ll admit it- i have slipped to a once-a-day-most-days brusher. no good
  • floss twice a week- yup. i hate flossing. sue me.
  • wash my face every night- nope. don’t do that either. but i realized if i want to use eye cream, i have to put it on my face and to do that my face needs to be clean. also,GROW UP AND WASH YOUR FACE!
  • earn 20 activity points a week- on weight watchers you get points for activity based on the duration and intensity of the activity, as well as your current height and weight. for example,  for walking between 3 and 5 mph for 45 min, i earn 3 points. 30 minutes of plyometrics earns me 4 points.
  • track daily- duh. also, by holding myself to my points i will continue to keep the eating out in check.
  • blog once a week
  • stay positive in any and every way possible

so there you have it for febuary. i realized throughout the last month that there is a difference between a goal and a challenge and that what i put out for myself each month are a bit of both. and i am okay with that. i know how to set an attainable goal and i also know what i can accomplish when i am challenged. bring it on feburary.

  1. Great post and great job on those goals. I about died laughing at the use of the word cobbler. A forgotten art, for sure. I’ve tossed a ton of good shoes over the years that could have probably been fixed. Good luck in january.

    1. thanks mai!! and about the cobbler, i know! but these are some expensive boots that i looooooove. my girl in nyc goes to the cobbler all the time, so it is a nice reminder that i can buy quality shoes and keep them around for a while 🙂 i hope you are well girl and still kicking ass in your own way. miss you and that sass!
