sorry i have been so quiet, but i hope you have been enjoying the photos. i have enjoyed sharing them.
last time we talked i was getting ready to walk out the door to kc. it was a whirlwind, as i expected, but wonderful all the same. i think i saw ALMOST everyone i wanted to see and even a few surprises!
since i returned i had another interview, b and i started to try and make some sense out of our home, i put in a request for a new social security card, finally found black boots that (i am pretty sure) i like and landed myself a job!
i know we had talked before about the challenges of getting a job without a network and i am so unbelievably happy to be in the 20% of people who find a position, apply and land it. this particular company is one that i had been stalking since we decided to move down here. i did a search for my field and turns out there is one interactive agency in NWA and they just happen to be the shit. even when i wasn’t looking for a job, i kept my eye on their postings and then when it came time i checked again. at first glance i didn’t think i was qualified, but with the encouragement of my friends, i went for it. so to say that i got a job without a network isn’t really true. i may not have had an “in” at the company, but my “network” was priceless in giving me the confidence to go for it.
so thanks. from the countless recommendations from my past co-workers on my linkedin, to the emails and words of encouragement from friends and family, to the 63 “likes” i got posting the great news yesterday. you sure do know how to make a girl feel loved and empowered. thank you!
so what happens to ahoy! now? not a damn thing, except perhaps some more structure. the anyday postings have been a great addition and we have gotten a lot of great feedback. so i have a few ideas i am playing around with in my head. and i hope when they happen that you will let me know how you feel.
but for now, time to get to preppin….the mister and i are starting the painting process on the office tonight…
the color b picked is called tamarind. it is the dark brown.

looks pretty good in the fall…please excuse the fighting dogs

but before we can get started on the color, we have to deal with the superawesomeandalwayseasytotakedown(not) popcorn ceiling.
aren’t you jealous?
and just because he is so damn cute and it isn’t often that i get a good pic of those ears i love so much, here is winnie. i am sure i will post pics of the progress AND i will talk to you soon….hope you are well
