yesterday was quite the day.
i woke up this morning to stretch and realized the pain. i am pretty sore all over. apparently that is what a day of gardening will do to a quasi-out of shape person. my arms are sore. my neck is sore. my core is sore. and the backs of my legs, from my hips to my toes are tiiiiiiiight. and not in the goo way.
tuesday night i stayed with my cousin and we had a few beers on the porch. we turned in fairly early and fell asleep watching 27 dresses. seemed appropriate.
we got up around 7:00 and caffeinated ourselves. from there we went to one of her friend’s greenhouses to pick up flowers. torre’s network is making a ton of things happen for me and i would be up poo creek without a paddle if it weren’t for her. her friend had some lovely flowers that just need some water and some love (please read: BUDGET FRIENDLY!). she also had some fabulous ideas of what to do with the flower beds at my aunts. after we left there we stopped by my aunt’s office and scooped up my mama and a pick-up. we all three piled in (i got to sit in the middle, my fav!) and headed to lowe’s to round out the flower collection.
everything was on hella sale, so we scored big.
we headed back to my aunt’s, where we weeded flower beds for hours in the hot hot heat. the shade from the big trees and the breeze were the only things that saved us. when my mom was on the verge of heat stroke, we headed inside for lunch. fresh tomato sandwiches. mmmm.
then we headed back out to plant some of the beds and start transferring the potted plants.
all those planters are full. and my sweet aunt has taken it upon herself to water them twice a day. i think we got a little over half planted. here is what we have left.
around 7:15 mom and i called it quits. just after a bird pooped across my back.
we headed home. took showers. and went to dinner with my dad. shortly after that i surrendered to the couch, only to move to the cushy king size bed in the guest room.
so what is in store for today? the mall. lunch with grandma. looking through her loot. pulling boxes from the storage unit. and finishing the planting.
oooh! here is a little teaser of where it will all go down.
getting excited…and definitely feeling the countdown.
thanks mom, torre, alex and spencer!!
