yesterday was the first time i have been out to my aunt’s since we decided to have the wedding there and so there was lots to talk about and figure out. we picked an area for the ceremony and for the tent. talked a little about decorations. discussed power sources. and parking. and tree trimming. and what kind of mums to plant. and what we with the crappers.
on the way there i looked up readings for the wedding on my phone and knew that when i got home i would have to make some lists and get started on the wording and layout for the postcards.
i was going to use vintage postcards for the invites, but in the end i found it exhausting to dig through tons of postcards to get just what i want. and it is a tiny space for information. so i thought i would make them myself. at first i was just planning on stamping the front with these great letter-press stamps i got at monkivintage on etsy.
but it still didn’t feel quite right. i wanted something a little more substantial. i still wanted to use postcards and keep it clean and simple, but had the need for some kind of layout and feel.
when we got home i hit the ground running. making a quick list of all the crap i remembered that i needed to do on the drive home and turned to my real simple wedding guide, that i bought and devoured right before the move, to add anything else i had missed. while flipping back through i found an invite that really caught my eye. i had all ready hit dusty up to see if she would be around to talk fonts later, and so when i saw the page i sent it over.
she got to work right away. we did the entire thing through email and gchat. i made weird diagrams and color coded emails. and she followed perfectly and did an awesome job! now to get them printed and in the mail. i will show them to you in a while. i don’t want to ruin it!
