weekend recap

it is pouring outside. inside we are listening to classical music on npr.the view is beautiful. i can’t wait to watch it change with the seasons. i don’t think i could ever get sick of it.

we just made coffee and breakfast and are giving ourselves some time to relax before we head to springfield to see my family. nick and chrsitina headed out this morning, and while we were sad to see them go, we had an awesome weekend. we worked on the house all day friday, and with help from b’s dad and sister we were able to get the leak under control and get the kitchen cleaned and unpacked. we also got our bed set up and brought in some furniture. yay for places to sit!

we were running a little late on friday and nick and chris met us in town at the grocery store. from there chris and i went to walmart to get mouse traps, a shower curtain and some coffee mugs. when we pulled into the parking lot there were three cop cars surrounding this beatup old truck, with its bed full of all kinds on junk. and on the hood were funnels, drain cleaner and many of the other essentials for making meth. awesome. b and i had just seen the woman of the pair at walgreens trying to buy syringes “for her uncle”, whose name couldn’t be found in their database. the pharmacy tech gave her a small package of them to get him through until he could come in himself..

i wouldn’t have sold this woman cough syrup, let alone give her needles. needless to say, i wasn’t shocked to see her getting arrested. but i did laugh. a lot.

oh arkansas.

this weekend was filled with sun, water, boats, noodles, beers, home cookin, warm whipped cream flavored vodka, stars, watching other people’s fireworks from the comfort of home and enough laughs to get me through until (at least) next weekend, when kelly and brad get here.

nick, chris- thank you so much for coming down! it was the perfect first weekend! sorry we didn’t make you do any manual labor. next time we promise, less fun MORE WORK! d 2 fee 4eva.
